84, 85, 86 Don Post Studios 'The Mask'

I've been working on getting this set of masks for a while. I finally got the 86 in the mail today
to complete the set.

While the 84 is a direct cast of the Kirk mask, the 85 was an original sculpt (based off the Kirk
mask) by Neil Surges and the 86 was a retool of Neil's sculpt. You can tell from variations of
"The Mask" sold from the late 80s to the mid 90s that a few different retools/touch ups were
done to the mask year after year. It's amazing to me still that mass produced masks released
26 years ago are still better looking feature-wise than many of the masks popular today.

That's a great line up! And they all look like they're in pristine condition.

Those masks are proof that Don Post can make a great mass production Myers mask, they just choose not to anymore.

i have always said that if you had an 85 the mask with correct eye cuts you would have the hero! great line up. you have an amazing collection.
